Finland’s Star Channel to launch local version of Hollywood Game Night in early 2026
Disney-owned Finnish entertainment network Star Channel will debut a local-language version of US format Hollywood Game Night in February.
Titled Kopla, it is produced by Helsinki-based outfit Rabbit Films and will be presented by Ville ‘Viki’ Eerikkilä, alongside regular team captains Jenni ‘Jenspa’ Poikelus and Juuso ‘Köpi’ Kallio.
The show sees teams compete in a series of party games, all within a living room-style setting. Each correct answer earns points, with the stakes rising as the rounds go on. In the final round, the winning teams go head-to-head, with only one team being crowned the winner of the episode.
The eight-episode series will include appearances from some of Finland’s best-known entertainers, including Niina Lahtinen, Joonas Nordman, Elias Salonen and Mimosa Willamo.
Kopla is based on NBCUniversal Formats’ hit international format Hollywood Game Night. The original NBC show was hosted by Glee actress Jane Lynch and produced by Hazy Mills Productions, Mission Control Media and Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.
In addition to airing on Star Channel, Kopla will also stream on Disney+ the day after its broadcast premiere.
Suzanne Kendrick, VP, format sales, NBCUniversal Formats, said: “‘Hollywood Game Night has become a standout entertainment format around the world and we are delighted to be partnering with Rabbit Films and Star Channel to bring Kopla to Finnish audiences.
